Press
the
shutter-release
button
halfway.
•
When the subject
is
in focus,
the focus
area
that
includes
the
subject or focus indicator
glows green (multiple focus
areas
can
glow
green).
•
When you
are
using digital
zoom, the camera focuses on
the subject in the center
of
the
frame and the focus
area
is
not
displayed. When
the
camera
has
focused,
the
focus indicator
glows green.
• If
the focus
area
or
focus
indicator flashes
red,
the
Focus
area
camera
is
unable
to
focus.
Modify
the composition and
try
pressing
the shutter-release
button
halfway again.

Without
lifting
your finger, press
the
shutter-release
button
the
rest
of
the
way
down.
The
Flash
Lamp
The status
of
the
flash can be confirmed by
pressing
the
shutter-release
button
halfway.
• On:
The flash fires
when
you
press
the
shutter-
release
button
all
the
way
down
.
• Flashing: The
flash
is
charging. The camera
cannot
shoot images.
•
Off:
The flash does
not
fire
when
an
image
is
taken.

Focusing
To
set focus and exposure (shutter speed and aperture value), press
the
shutter-release
button
halfway.
The focus
area
varies
depending
on
the shooting mode.
In
0
(auto) mode,
the
camera detects
the
main subject and focuses on it
when
the
shutter-release
button
is
pressed halfway.
If
a
human
face
is
detected,
the
camera automatically
sets
focus priority on it.
