Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Nikon Binocular Telescope Pillar Stand with
Adapter.
Before using the product, read this manual thoroughly to ensure proper use.
After reading this manual, keep it in a readily accessible place for future refer-
ence.

product safely and prevent possible injury or property damage to you and

Keep the plastic bag used to wrap this product or other small parts out of
reach of children. The bag may block their mouths and noses and cause

If children swallow such parts, see a doctor immediately.
Do not place this product on an unstable surface. Otherwise, it may fall
and cause personal injury or product damage.
The product may deteriorate when it is used or stored over a long period
of time, and deterioration may stain your clothes. Check the product be-
fore use, and if any defects due to deterioration are found, consult a Nikon
authorized service representative.
When assembling the product, exercise care not to drop or tilt it because
it is heavy. Failure to do so may cause personal injury.
When assembling the product or attaching the fork mount or adapter to
it, be sure to rmly secure them using bolts.
Do not subject the product to any physical shocks. If the product is de-
formed or damaged due to being subjected to shocks, consult your local
dealer or a Nikon authorized service representative immediately.
When moving the product, be sure to remove the binocular telescope
body and the fork mount. After moving it, check all bolts for looseness.
Care and maintenance precautions
If any rain, water, sand, or mud should come in contact with the product,
remove it using a soft, clean cloth as soon as possible. If using the product
at the seaside, wipe o any salt that may have adhered to the surface of
the body using a damp, soft, clean cloth, and then wipe it again using a
dry cloth.
Do not use benzene, thinner, or any other cleaners containing organic
solvents.

1. Assembling the pillar stand
1-(1) Assembling the leg section
1. Attach the other two legs to the base.
Firmly assemble them using the M10 hexagonal key and eight M10 hex
socket head cap bolts provided with the product.
Then, lightly screw the four M10 hex socket head cap bolts into the leg
head on the base.

2. Place the assembled leg section on a rm, at surface.
3. Turn the leveling bolt on the end of each leg using a wrench of an
appropriate size to level the leg section.
If the ends of the leveling bolts sink into the ground, lay an iron plate to
prevent them from sinking into the ground.
1-2 Assembling the leg section and pillar
1. Insert the bolts you set in step 1-(1)-1 into the larger holes of the key-
holes at the lower part of the pillar.
2. Place the pillar on the leg head and turn the pillar until the bolts
enter the smaller holes of the keyholes.
3. Tighten the M10 hex socket head cap bolts using the M10 hexagonal
key.
2. Assembling the fork mount and pillar stand
2-(1) Assembling the fork mount and stand adapter
1. Assemble the fork mount and stand adapter.
Use the M12 hexagonal key, M12 hex socket head cap bolts, and six
washers to rmly secure them.
2. Lightly screw the four M10 hex socket head cap bolts into the M10
holes at the bottom of the stand adapter.
2-(2) Assembling the fork mount with the adapter and
pillar stand
1. Insert the M10 hex socket head cap bolts you set to the lower part of
the stand adapter in step 2-(1)-2 into the larger holes of the keyholes
at the upper part of the pillar.
2. After you have placed the fork mount on the pillar, turn the fork
mount until the bolts enter the smaller holes of the keyholes.
3. Tighten the M10 hex socket head cap bolts using the M10 hexagonal
key.
For the procedures to attach the binocular telescope body and the fork
mount, refer to the Nikon Binocular Telescope Body Instruction Manual.
3 Removing the fork mount with the adapter
and pillar stand
Reverse step 2-(2) to remove them. Keeping the fork mount and the adapter
in an assembled state will allow you to skip step 2-(1) for the second and
subsequent installations.
If the product is placed outdoors, we recommend that you remove the
binocular telescope body and fork mount from the pillar stand after use and
then store it.
