3 Start
the
timer.
Press
the shutter-release
button
all the way
down
to
start
the
timer. The self-timer
lamp (AF-assist illuminator) will start
to
blink and a beep will
begin
to
sound. Two seconds before
the
photograph
is
taken,
the self-timer lamp will stop blinking and
the
beeping will
become more rapid. The shutter will be released
about
ten
seconds after the
timer
starts.
Raising
the
built-in flash interrupts
the
timer.
To
restart, wait
until
the
flash-ready indicator
is
displayed in the viewfinder
and press the shutter-release
button
halfway.
To
turn
the
self-timer
off
before a photograph
is
taken,
turn
the
release mode dial
to
another setting.
