Manual
Release Format
Photo Secretary for the F5 offers two release formats, Command Release and Line
Release.
• Command Release
Sends a shutter release command from PC to camera.
Because the camera is controlled from the PC, there is a brief time lag.
In Command Release (clicking on the PC's "AF start"), autofocus operation stops
with the start of the first Release operation on the PC.
• Line Release
Sends an electronic release signal via the signal line from PC to camera.
Line Release format does not require communication time, so the release response
is faster than in Command Release format.
Note:
• With certain PC models, Line Release format cannot be used due to electronic
noise.
Before installing a film cartridge on the F5 camera, test whether or not you
can use the Line Release format with your PC.
• When using Line Release format, some Remote Operation functions cannot be
used.
• For details on specific settings, see the "Help" menu.
