To attach to the tripod, position the collar tripod socket on the tripod screw and tighten. To rotate the lens (with camera attached) for vertical or horizontal format, loosen the collar locking screw, rotate the lens to the desired position, and retighten the locking screw to secure the assembly. For precise positioning, clickstops are provided at 90° intervals. FOCUSING B The fully automatic diaphragm of this lens enables focusing with maximum image brightness at all times.
ZOOMING C Zooming operation is performed by sliding the focusing/zooming control ring in or out until the desired degree of magnification (or composition) is obtained. To facilitate setting the lens at a desired focal length, reference marks corresponding to focal length settings of 180mm, 200mm, 250mm, 300mm, 350mm, 400mm, 500mm and 600mm are provided. Although known as "achromatic," lenses employing these designs exhibit a certain amount of undesirable residual dispersion (called the "secondary spectrum") which limits image contrast and sharpness, particularly at full aperture.

Gewindebuchse des Stativrings zur Anbringung auf einem Stativ iiber dessen Anzugsschraube bringen und diese anziehen. Zur Drehung des Objektivs mit angesetzter Kamera (Wechsel zwischen Quer- und Hochformat) Klemmschraube des Stativrings losen, Objektiv in die gewunschte Stellung drehen und Klemmschraube wieder anziehen. Die Einstellung wird durch Rastungen in Abstanden von 90° erleichtert. SCHARFEINSTELLUNG B Die automatische Springblende dieses Objektivs gestattet die Fokussierung bei voller Offnung.
BRENNWEITENEINSTELLUNG C Die Biennweiteneinstellung erfolgt durch axiale Vetschiebung des Entfernungs-/Brennweitenrings, bis der gewiinschte Bildausschnitt erzielt ist. Zur leichteren Einstellung einer bestimmten Brennweite sind die Stellungen fiir 180mm, 200mm, 250mm, 300mm, 350mm, 400mm, 500mm und 600mm graviert. Selbst wenn man so korrigierte Objektive als "achromatisch" bezeichnet, lafit sich eine gewisse unerwunschte Restdispersion-das sogenannte sekundare Spektrum-nicht vollig beseitigen.

CHANGEMENT DE FOCALE— C II suffit d'imprimer une translation lineaire a la bague jusqu'a l'obtention du cadrage ou du grandissement desire. L'echelle gravee sur le fut facilite l'affichage des focales suivantes: 180, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 500 et 600mm; bien evidemment toutes les focales intermediaires peuvent etre utilisees.
LA SERIE NIKKOR ED La correction des aberrations chromatiques des objectifs s'est jusqu'a present presque uniquement limitee a ramener deux longueurs d'ondes-normalement bleu et rouge-dans un spectre commun. Bien que dit "achromatiques" les objectifs ainsi concus montrent toujours une certaine dispersion indesirable (le spectre secondaire) qui diminue le contraste et la nettete de l'image particulierement a pleine ouverture.

MONTAJE EN EL TRIPODE Para obtener una optima nitidez de imagen y evitar una vibration de la camara se recomienda usar siempre un tn'pode. Este ED Zoom-Nikkor se provee de un collan'n de montaje resistente, completamente giratorio (360°) precisamente para lograr dichos propositos. Para montar el objetivo en el tn'pode coloque el enchufe del tn'pode en el tornillo de este y aprietelo.
©= Enfoque excelente »= Enfoque aceptable La imagen es brillante de un borde al otro, pero la parte central del visor microprismatico o reticulado es oscuia. Enfoquese sobre la parte mate de alrededor. O • Enfoque aceptable Ligero efecto de vineteo o fendomeno de moire afecta la imagen en la pantalla. Pero la imagen de la peh'cula no es afectada por esto. E3= Medida de la exposition imposible; la combination objectivo-pantalla solo permite realizar la operation de enfoque.

Wipe with a soft, clean cotton cloth moistened with alcohol to remove grease or fingerprints from the lens surfaces. If you use ether in cleaning the lens, a smudge sometimes appears on the surface of a multi-coated lens.

Pour le nettoyage, il est recommande d'utiliser un tissu de coton doux, imbibe d'alcool afin d'effacer des traces de graisse ou de doigts. Lorsque, Ton utilise de Tether, des traces peuvent subsister apres evaporation sur une lentille qui a subi le traitement multi-couches. Dans un tel cas, frotter a nouveau avec du coton imbibe d'alcool.
