FX-MRAD (milliradian) reticle

Nikon’sFX-MRADreticle(Fig.4-6)presentstheshooterwithahighlyfunctionalandadvancedtool

for all aspects of long-range shooting, including estimating range, maintaining holdovers, dialing

elevation come ups and compensating for wind and target leads. An advantage of using the FX-MRAD

reticle is that it can be applied to virtually any shooting application regardless of caliber or ballistic

performance, and when paired with the BLACK FX1000 riflescope and its precise MRAD adjustments,

provides shooters with the tools necessary for long-range shooting precision.

TheFX-MRADreticle’s0.7MRAD-thickouterpostsat3,6,9and12o’clockdrawtheeyetoafree-

floating reticle spaced 1 MRAD inside the posts. The reticle is kept uncluttered by having short 0.2

MRAD hashes spaced every 0.2 MRAD with larger hashes every whole 1 MRAD and extending out 8

MRAD from the crosshair—9 MRAD to each outer post. The FX-MRAD also integrates 0.1 MRAD “gaps”

(spaces) in the horizontal and vertical stadia surrounded by mid-length 0.3 MRAD hashes that act as

larger reference points for quickly finding your 0.5 MRAD holds.

TheBLACKFX1000hastheFX-MRADreticleplacedintheriflescope’sfirstfocalplane,soholdover

corrections, ranging and other measurements using the indicated reticle subtensions can be done at

any magnification.
