Choose bit depth (D3 series, D700, and D300 series only) and compression
settings for NEF (RAW) images.
High-speed crop

Select this option to enable high-speed crop. See the camera manual for
details.
Recording Images

Choose a destination (Record to) from PC (photographs are recorded only
to the computer), PC+CARD (photographs are recorded both to the com-
puter and to the camera memory cards) and CARD. If PC+CARD or CARD
is selected, you can choose the role played by the card in slot 2 (Card Re-
cord Mode) from Overfl ow (the card slot 2 is used only after the card in slot
1 is full), Backup (each photograph is recorded twice, once to each card),
and RAW Slot1 and JPEG Slot2 (as for Backup, except that the NEF/RAW
copies images recorded at image qualities of NEF/RAW+JPEG are recorded
to slot 1, the JPEG copies to slot 2).

“PC+CARD”/”CARD”
D3S D7000
IPTC data and ICC profi les are not embedded in the photographs stored on the camera memory
cards. Photographs can not be taken if the memory cards are full, while a memory card is being
formatted, or if no memory card is inserted in the camera. Exchange or insert memory cards as
appropriate or select PC. If the space on the computer destination drive is insuffi cient to record
additional photographs, a warning will be displayed; follow the on-screen instructions to
choose a
