The Setup Menu
Assign Side Zoom Control
Choose the function to be performed during shooting when the side zoom control is
moved.

When the focus mode is set to modes other than E, operation of the side zoom control
is disabled.

In shooting modes where the f-number cannot be set, operation of the side zoom control
is disabled.

When the ISO sensitivity cannot be set, operation of the side zoom control is disabled.

When the exposure compensation cannot be set, operation of the side zoom control is
disabled.

When the white balance cannot be set, operation of the side zoom control is disabled.

Option Description
Y Zoom (default setting) Adjust the zoom (A70).
E Manual focus

When the focus mode is set to E (manual focus), use
the side zoom control to focus (A64).
Move the side zoom control toward g to focus on
distant subjects.
Move the side zoom control toward f to focus on
near subjects.
Z Aperture

Set the f-number (A53).
b ISO sensitivity

Display the ISO sensitivity setting screen (A138).
Move the side zoom control while the setting screen is
displayed to select an item.
o Exposure compensation

Display the exposure compensation setting screen
(A66, 68).
Move the side zoom control while the setting screen is
displayed to select a compensation value.
c White balance

Display the white balance setting screen (A130).
Move the side zoom control while the setting screen is
displayed to select an item.
k None
The side zoom control does not operate even if it is
moved.
