Using the Menu
The Shooting Menu (A, B, C, or D Mode)
B Notes About AF Area Mode
• When digital zoom is in effect, the camera focuses on the area in the center of the frame
regardless of the AF area mode setting.
• This function may not be available to use in combination with other functions (A80).

Use the multi selector HIJK to move the focus area to where you
want to focus.
To use the multi selector to configure the flash mode or other
settings, press the k button. To return to moving the focus area,
press the k button again.
s Subject
tracking
Use this function to take pictures
of moving subjects. Register the
subject on which the camera
focuses. The focus area
automatically moves to track the
subject. See “Using Subject
Tracking” (A142) for more
information.
M Target
finding AF
(default setting)
When the camera detects the
main subject, it focuses on that
subject.

(A74) for more information.
