Using the menu
The shooting menu ( , , , , or mode)

elect [Measure].

To apply the last measured value, select [Cancel] and press the button.

rame the white or gray reference object in the measuring
window (1), and press the
button to measure the value.

T
he shutter is released and measurement is complete (no image is saved).
•
If an error message is displayed, perform the procedure again from step 3.
Notes about [Preset manual]
A whit
e balance value for ash lighting cannot be measured with [Preset manual]. When
shooting using the ash, set [White balance] to [Auto (normal)], [Auto (warm
lighting)], or [Flash].
Metering
T
he process of measuring the brightness of the subject to determine the exposure is
known as “metering.”
Use this option to set the method of how the camera meters exposure.
