Using the menu
The shooting menu ( , , , , or mode)

R
egister a subject.
•
Align the subject that you want to track with the border in the center of the frame
and press the
button.
•
When the subjec
t is registered, a yellow border (focus area) is displayed around it
and the camera begins tracking the subject.
•
I
f the subject cannot be registered, the border is displayed in red. Change the
composition and try registering the subject again.
•
To cancel subject registration, press the
button.
•
I
f the camera can no longer track the registered subject, the focus area disappears.
Register the subject again.

ress the shutter-release button all the way to take the picture.
•
I
f the shutter-release button is pressed while the focus area is not displayed, the
camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame.
Notes about [Subject tracking]
•
If you perform operations such as zooming while the camera is tracking the subject, the
registration is canceled.
•
Subject tracking may not be possible in certain shooting conditions.
