About This Manual
If you want to start using the camera right away, see “The Basics of Shooting and
Playback” (A 12).
See “Parts of the Camera and Main Functions” (A 1) for more information on the
names and principle functions of the camera parts.
Other Information
• Symbols and Conventions
To make it easier to find the information you need, the following symbols and
conventions are used in this manual:
•
SD, SDHC and SDXC memory cards are referred to as “memory cards” in this manual.
• The setting at the time of purchase is referred to as the “default setting.”
• The names of menu items displayed in the monitor screen, and the names of
buttons or messages displayed on a computer monitor appear in bold.
• In this manual, images are sometimes omitted from monitor screen samples so
that monitor indicators can be more clearly shown.
• The illustrations of monitor content and camera may differ from the actual
product.
• The COOLPIX S9500 is used for the illustrations and monitor contents in this
manual. Illustrations for both the COOLPIX S9500 and the COOLPIX S9400 are
provided when necessary.
