Features That Can Be Set Using the d (Menu) Button (Shooting Mode)
Shooting Features
Options Available in the Smart Portrait Menu
Option Description A
Image mode
Allow you to select the combination of image size and
image quality used when saving images. The default setting
is r 4896×3672.

Skin softening
Enable skin softening. The camera makes facial skin tones
softer before saving images. The extent of effect applied can
be selected. The default setting is Normal.

Smile timer
The camera detects human faces and then automatically
releases the shutter whenever a smile is detected.
• The default setting is On (single) (i.e., only one picture is
captured at a time).
• If On (continuous) is set, 5 pictures are shot continuously.
• If On (BSS) is set, pictures are shot continuously using the
BSS (Best Shot Selector) mode (A40).
• Self-timer cannot be used with this feature.

Blink proof
When On is selected, the camera automatically releases the
shutter twice each time a picture is taken. Of the two shots,
one in which the subject’s eyes are open is saved. The flash
cannot be used. The default setting is Off.
