Recompose the photograph and shoot.
Focus will remain locked between
shots.
Do not change the distance between the camera and the sub-
ject while focus lock is in effect. If the subject moves, lift your fin-
ger from the shutter-release button to end focus lock and then
focus again at the new distance.

Auto Area AF
The camera selects from 41 focus areas.
Except in manual focus mode, the selected
focus area is displayed when the shutter-
release button is pressed halfway.
Large focus areas are used when:
• 4K movies are recorded with AF-S selected
for focus mode
• Motion Snapshots are recorded with elec-
tronic vibration reduction enabled
• HD movies are recorded in advanced movie
mode with electronic vibration reduction
enabled and AF-S selected for focus mode
