The Scan Window — T he Contro l Area
The Autoexposure Button
At default settings, the scanner
automatically adjusts exposure
as necessary before displaying
images in the preview area. The
(autoexposure) button is only
required if autoexposure has been
turned off by removing the check from the Auto exposure
for positive fi lm or Auto exposure for negative fi lm
options in the “Single Scan,” “Batch Scan,” or “Preview Set-
tings” categories of the “Preferences” dialog. In these cases,
click the
button before performing the selected operation
(single scan, batch scan, or preview) on fi lm of the affected
type (positive or negative).
The Zoom Buttons
Click the button to zoom in on
the current crop, enlarging it to fi ll
the preview area. If a smaller se-
lection is made within the original
crop, clicking the
button will
zoom the new selection in to fi ll
the preview area. To zoom out
to the previous view, click the
button.
Preview Image Quality
Preview Image Quality
The image in the preview area may seem rough and uneven at high
zoom ratios. This can be cured by clicking the Preview button to pre-
view the image at the new zoom ratio.
