Flash sync speed set to selected value, which can be from 1/200

･ In mode S or M, if the shutter-speed dial is set to X, the shutter
speed will be the same as the sync speed.
･ In mode S or M, if the shutter-speed dial is set to a speed faster
than the sync speed, the shutter speed will be the same as the
sync speed.

In modes S and M, shutter speed can be xed at the value selected for
Custom Setting e1 [Flash sync speed] by setting the shutter-speed dial to X.
An X (ash sync indicator) will appear in the shooting display together with
the ash sync speed.
D Auto FP high-speed sync
･ A
uto FP high-speed sync allows the ash to be used at the highest shutter
speed supported by the camera. When [1/200 s (Auto FP)] is selected, the
camera automatically enables auto FP high-speed sync at shutter speeds
faster than the ash sync speed. This makes it possible to choose the
maximum aperture for reduced depth of eld even when the subject is
backlit in bright sunlight.
