Black plate (16,1) SEATS . The seatback should not be reclined any more than needed for comfort. Seat belts are most effective when the passenger sits well back and straight up in the seat. If the seatback is reclined, the risk of sliding under the lap belt and being injured is increased. CAUTION SSS0133 well back in the seat with both feet on the floor and adjust the seat properly. ADJUSTABLE HEADRESTS (if so equipped) WARNING SSS0508 Front-seat Active Head Restraints The Active Head Restraint moves forward utilizing the force that the seatback receives from the occupant in a rear-end collision. The movement of the head restraint helps support the occupant’s head by reducing its backward movement and helping absorb some of the forces that may lead to whiplash-type injuries.

Black plate (26,1) SEAT BELTS PRECAUTIONS ON SEAT BELT USAGE If you are wearing your seat belt properly adjusted, and you are sitting upright and well back in your seat with both feet on the floor, your chances of being injured or killed in an accident and/or the severity of injury may be greatly reduced. Children should be properly restrained in the rear seat and, if appropriate, in a child restraint. The seat belt should be properly adjusted to a snug fit. Failure to do so may reduce the effectiveness of the entire restraint system and increase the chance or severity of injury in an accident. Serious injury or death can occur if the seat belt is not worn properly.
Black plate (29,1) CHILD SAFETY Children need adults to help protect them. They need to be properly restrained. In addition to the general information in this manual, child safety information is available from many other sources, including doctors, teachers, government traffic safety offices, and community organizations. Every child is different, so be sure to learn the best way to transport your child. There are three basic types of child restraint systems: . Rear-facing child restraint .

The shoulder belt anchor height should be adjusted to the position best for you. Failure to do so may reduce the effectiveness of the entire restraint system and increase the chance or severity of injury in an accident.

Do not attempt to install a child restraint in the center position using the LATCH anchors. LATCH lower anchor point locations The LATCH anchors are located at the rear of the seat cushion near the seatback. A label is attached to the seatback to help you locate the LATCH anchors. WARNING .
Black plate (40,1) TOP TETHER STRAP CHILD RESTRAINT If the manufacturer of your child restraint requires the use of a top tether strap, it must be secured to an anchor point. WARNING SSS0643 LATCH webbing-mounted attachment Installing child restraint LATCH anchor attachments LATCH compatible child restraints include two rigid or webbing-mounted attachments that can be connected to two anchors located at certain seating positions in your vehicle.

Inspect the lower anchors by inserting your fingers into the lower anchor area and feeling to make sure there are no obstructions over the LATCH anchors, such as seat belt webbing or seat cushion material. The child restraint will not be secured properly if the LATCH anchors are obstructed. Front-facing Follow these steps to install a front-facing child restraint using LATCH system: 1. Adjust the rear seat to the upright and rearmost position. 2.
Black plate (44,1) 4. The back of the child restraint should be secured against the seatback. If necessary, remove the headrest to obtain the correct child restraint fit. (See “ADJUSTABLE HEADRESTS” earlier in this section.) If the headrest is removed, store it in a secure place. Be sure to reinstall the headrest when the child restraint is removed.

The three-point seat belt in your vehicle is equipped with an Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) which must be used when installing a child restraint. .

If necessary, adjust the head restraint (front passenger seat only) or remove the head restraint/headrest to obtain the correct child restraint fit. Booster seats are designed to properly route the lap and shoulder portions of the seat belt over the strongest portions of a child’s body to provide the maximum protection during a collision. . . Black plate (55,1) BOOSTER SEAT INSTALLATION ON FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND REAR SEAT WARNING NISSAN recommends that booster seats be installed in the rear seat. However, if you must install a booster seat in the front passenger seat, move the passenger’s seat to the rearmost position. LRS0453 . Make sure the child’s head will be properly supported by the booster seat or vehicle seat. The seatback must be at or above the center of the child’s ears.

The booster seat should be positioned on the vehicle seat so that it is stable.

When checking or replacement is required, we recommend a NISSAN dealer for servicing. Install the bolts that hold the undercover in place. Be careful not to strip the bolts or over-tighten them.
Black plate (274,1) WINDOW WASHER FLUID To fill the window washer fluid reservoir, lift the cap and pour the window washer fluid into the reservoir opening. Add a washer solvent to the washer for better cleaning. In the winter season, add a windshield washer antifreeze. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the mixture ratio. Fill the window washer fluid reservoir periodically. Type A Add fluid when the low washer fluid warning light illuminates. SDI2387 Check the fluid level in the reservoir.

Do not fill the window washer reservoir tank with washer fluid concentrates at full strength. Clean the battery with a solution of baking soda and water. .
