5.8 Beacon 2 functional blocks
Beacon 2 devices are single-residence units that support Wireless (Wi-Fi) service. Wi-Fi service on
these devices is compliant with the IEEE 802.11 standard. In addition to the Wi-Fi service, these
devices transmit Ethernet packets to two RJ-45 Ethernet ports.
Figure 5-3, “Single-residence WiFi CPE with Gigabit Ethernet” (p. 39) shows the functional blocks
for the Beacon 2.
