Introduction 1. Introduction The Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-900 allows you freedom to make and receive calls while on the move or in the office. The headset has a sliding boom that allows you to answer and end calls and to talk at a lower volume or in a noisy environment. You can connect the headset to a compatible phone that supports Bluetooth wireless technology. Read this user guide carefully before using the headset.

Get started ■ Keys and parts The headset contains the following parts: • Indicator light (1) • Volume key (2) • Power key (3) • Sliding boom (4) • Answer/end key (5) • Charger connector (6) • Earphone (7) • Microphone (8) Before using the headset, you must charge the battery and pair the headset with a compatible phone. Note: Parts of the headset are magnetic. Metallic materials may be attracted to the headset.
Get started ■ Charge the battery This device has an internal, nonremovable, rechargeable battery. Do not attempt to remove the battery from the device as you may damage the device. 1. Connect the charger to a wall outlet. 2. Connect the charger cable to the headset as shown in the figure. The red indicator light is displayed during charging. If charging does not start, disconnect the charger, plug it in again, and retry. Charging the battery fully may take up to 2 hours. 3.
Get started 3. Select the headset (Nokia BH-900) from the list of found devices. 4. Enter the passcode 0000 to pair and connect the headset to your phone. In some phones you may need to make the connection separately after pairing. See the user guide of your phone for details. You only need to pair the headset with your phone once. If the pairing is successful, the headset beeps and appears in the phone menu where you can view the currently paired Bluetooth devices.
Get started • Check that the headset is within 10 meters (30 feet) of your phone and that there are no obstructions between the headset and the phone, such as walls or other electronic devices. • To reset the headset if it stops functioning, although it is charged, plug the headset into a charger, and briefly press the power key and the middle of the volume key at the same time. This reset does not clear your settings (for example, pairing settings).

Basic use ■ Put the headset on the ear Place the headset over your ear in a comfortable position, and point it toward your mouth as shown in the figure. ■ Sliding boom The sliding boom brings the microphone closer to your mouth, which improves the audio quality even when you talk at a lower volume or in a noisy environment. You can use the boom to answer, end, or reject a call. To use the boom, gently pull it down toward your mouth (1), or push it up to its initial position (2).
Basic use is set on, the phone automatically answers the incoming call after one ring. To reject an incoming call, pull the boom down and push it up immediately, or briefly press the answer/end key twice. To end a call, push the boom up to its initial position, press the answer/ end key, or use the phone keys. ■ Adjust the earphone volume Press the volume key up to increase or down to decrease the volume. To adjust the volume quickly, press and hold the key in the desired direction.
Basic use ■ Switch a call between the phone and headset To switch the phone call or PTT call between the headset and a compatible Nokia phone, press and hold the answer/end key, or use the respective function in your phone. ■ Use the headset with several phones You can pair the headset with up to eight phones but connect it to only one phone at a time. The phone that was first paired with the headset is the default phone.
Battery information 4. Battery information Your device is powered by a rechargeable battery. The full performance of a new battery is achieved only after two or three complete charge and discharge cycles. The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but it will eventually wear out. Recharge your battery only with Nokia approved chargers designated for this device. Unplug the charger from the electrical plug and the device when not in use.
Care and maintenance Care and maintenance Your device is a product of superior design and craftsmanship and should be treated with care. The suggestions below will help you protect your warranty coverage. • Keep all accessories and enhancements out of the reach of small children. • Keep the device dry. Precipitation, humidity, and all types of liquids or moisture can contain minerals that will corrode electronic circuits. If your device does get wet, allow it to dry completely.
