Assembly Instructions
From the 2’ x 4’ ACX panel, measure and cut the
46-1/2” x 19-1/2” base. From one 4’ x 4’ panel,
measure and cut the front and back (both cuts are
46-1/2” x 18”). From the second 4’ x 4’ panel,
measure and cut the two 18” x 18” sides and the 48” x
21” lid. Sand all pieces until they are smooth.
STEP 1: Cut top, bottom and sides
Lay the base on an elevated surface and apply adhesive
near the edge of the long side. Stand the back panel along
the edge on top of the adhesive. Clamp and pre-drill with a
5/32” drill bit and secure with 1-1/2” wood screws. Repeat
this process for both the side and front panels.
STEP 2: Attach sides to base
Since this storage bench will be outdoors, it is ideal to
create it to be as weather resistant as possible. Take
the sealant and apply to all edges, inside and out, and
let dry.
STEP 3: Apply sealant
Take one trim board, measure and cut four 19-1/2” x 2”
pieces and one 15-11/16” x 2”. From the second board, cut
six 15-11/16” x 2” pieces. After that, cut one 15-11/16” x
2” piece from the third board. From the fourth board,
measure and cut two 48” x 2” pieces. Sand the edges
smooth after cutting.
STEP 4: Cut Trim pieces
Glue each individual trim piece to the box. Place and attach
48” pieces on the top and bottom of the front of the box.
Attach the 19-1/2” pieces at the top and bottom of the
sides of the box, and attach the 15-11/16” pieces vertically
on the front and corners. Center the two middle pieces 16”
in from the ends. To secure the trim better, pre-drill and
screw in from the back.
STEP 5: Attach Trim to the box
