1. Shut down the system, following the procedure described in your
system manuals.
2. Fill the fluid system with solvent according to the instructions in your
system manuals.
3. Press GO TO ORIGIN on the controller front panel to reposition the
Dispenser for purging the fluid delivery system.
4. Place a small waste container under the end of the extension.
5. Activate the purge program.
6. Remove the waste container after you run the purge program.
NOTE: If the nozzle is not properly cleaned, coating material will build up
over time and clog the nozzle orifice. This will result in restricted or
blocked flow or pattern alteration. If this problem occurs, immerse the
nozzle in an appropriate solvent. Soak the nozzle overnight before
cleaning.
7. Remove the nozzle from the extension. Immerse the nozzle in an
appropriate cleaning solvent.
CAUTION: Use a Nordson nozzle brush to scrub the nozzle.
Do not use a steel brush or any other type of brush that will
damage the nozzle tip.
8. Dry the nozzle and inspect the orifice for any blockage.
NOTE: If the nozzle orifice is blocked, insert a probe, cleaning wire, or
broach into the orifice against the direction of fluid flow. Do not twist the
probe or broach or try to clean the orifice with a sawing motion.
9. Store the nozzle in a safe place.
