Instruction Manual

Introduction 1-1
1 Introduction
1.1 Overview
The MH-900 Series Loaders/Unloaders are optional part handling systems that provide flexible integration
with upstream and downstream factory processes. They provide efficient part handling, minimizing
operator intervention.
This manual is intended primarily as a reference for production operators and service technicians.
However, others unfamiliar with Nordson ASYMTEK products may also find this manual useful as a
general introduction to the system. This section covers the following topics:

System Configuration
System Features
1.2 Safety First
Operation of your MH-900 involves mechanical devices, air pressure, and electrical power. It is essential
that every person servicing or operating the MH-900 fully understands all hazards, risks, and safety
precautions. When properly operated and maintained, the MH-900 should be safe and reliable.
Thoroughly review Section 2 - Safety prior to installation and operation.
1.3 Basic System Description
The MH-900 Series Loaders/Unloaders are configurable for inline or same-side load and unload
operation, and supports both single or dual lane conveyors. A loader holds magazines full of carriers and
loads them into the production equipment. An unloader holds an empty magazine and fills it with
completed carriers received from the production equipment. Fully programmable, they are adaptable to
many types of process carriers. Loader controls can be fully integrated with the Spectrum S-900N series
dispenser or operate independently with other SMEMA equipment.
The loaders easily manage a wide range of parts from extremely thin frames or strips to large heavy
boats or pallets. Capacity is flexible; the system can handle multiple magazines for reduced loading
frequency. PLC control enables future expandability when process needs change. The MH-900 loaders
and unloaders enable advanced process control and future expandability to support your unique
requirements.
The MH-900 loaders and unloaders are fully enclosed with interlocked doors and windows for operator
safety and part security. Access panels are easily removed and built-in software maintenance tools make
servicing easy.
1.3.1 Loadermove Touch™ Software and Control System
Programs are easy to write with step-by-step instructions and a 147-mm color touch screen. Users can
program magazines to process from the bottom or top, and to move frames to the next available lane or
to a specific lane if traceability and lot control are required.
