1.5.1.3 Shuttle Conveyor Gripper
Item Name Description
Gripper Sensors
(not shown)
There are six (6) sensors on the gripper: one sensor on the Gripper
Open/Close Actuator (Gripper Open), three (3) sensors on the Gripper
Extend/Retract Actuator (Gripper Extend, Gripper Retract, Gripper at
Middle Position) and two (2) sensors on the Gripper Up/Down Actuator
(Gripper Up and Gripper Down).
1 Gripper (Loader)
The Gripper removes one carrier at a time from the magazine and
places it on the conveyor. There are three (3) pneumatic actuators that
control the Gripper: Gripper Open/Close, Gripper Extend/Retract and
Gripper Up/Down.
2 Conveyor
The Conveyor transports the carrier to the production equipment via a
conveyor belt. The default conveyor setup supports carrier lengths less
than 216mm. For longer lengths (more than 216mm), the conveyor belt
needs to be extended. This is achieved by manually transforming the
extendable track and changing the belt.
3 Shuttle
The Shuttle moves back and forth, shuttling the conveyor gripper to
pick carriers and transfer them to a maximum of two (2) output
positions. The pickup and destination positions are user-programmable
and the carriers can be transferred in user-defined sequence for
customized operation procedures.
4
Carrier Out
Sensor
The Carrier Out sensor detects the carrier leaving the conveyor.
5 Conveyor Motor The Conveyor Motor turns the conveyor belts.
6 Shuttle Sensors The Shuttle has one limit sensor and one home sensor.
7 Pinch Roller
The Pinch Roller activates down to help the conveyor move the
carriers.
8 Carrier In Sensor The Carrier In sensor detects the frame once it arrives at the conveyor.
9
Magazine/Carrier
Sensor
The Magazine/Carrier Sensor performs dual tasks: it detects if a
magazine is present and if a carrier is present on the conveyor.
