Instruction Manual
5-2 Maintenance and Service
5.4 Recordkeeping
The type of maintenance performed should be recorded in the MH-900 maintenance records. At
minimum, dates, procedure type, technician name, part numbers/serial numbers of replaced parts, and
post-procedure functional test results should be recorded.
WARNING! CAUTION!
Before performing the maintenance procedures in this section, perform a service
shutdown as specified in 2.10 Service Shutdown.
5.5 General Maintenance and Inspection
Cleaning and inspecting the exterior and the interior of the MH-900 is the first step in maintenance. The
procedures in this section are for the major components of the MH-900 and are common to the upstream
and downstream loader unless otherwise noted. The sequence of the maintenance procedures may not
necessarily be performed in the order presented. Perform an initial inspection and visually inspect the
exterior and the interior of the system as follows:
1. Look for obvious signs of wear and tear, damage such as a bent or broken frame, or
damaged surfaces and parts.
2. Inspect all components for cleanliness, wear and tear, free movement, alignment, vibration-
free performance, and positive attachment of fasteners.
3. If cleaning is required, clean exterior surfaces using isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and a clean,
lint-free cloth. Allow to air-dry.
NOTE Avoid use of an over-saturated cleaning cloth. Do not allow excessive cleaning
solution to spill on surrounding surfaces.
4. If alignment and tightening of hardware is required, refer to Section 3 - Installation.
5. If components are worn, damaged, or otherwise indicate need for replacement, refer to
removal and installation procedures or contact Nordson ASYMTEK Technical Support.
Order parts immediately if the inspection finds damaged or worn parts to ensure timely
delivery.
NOTE Inspection and cleaning of the interior of the MH-900 requires removal of service
access panels. See 5.8 Removal and Replacement of Access Panels for removal
procedures.
