5.7 SECS Error Messages
5.7.1 Unrecognized Device ID

Step SECS Message Description
1 H -> E SnFn [W]
Host sends a message with a bad Device ID in the header. The
W-bit can be either 0 or 1.
2 H <- E S9F1 Equipment replies with “Unrecognized Device ID”.
5.7.2 Unrecognized Stream

1 H -> E SnFn [W]
Host sends a primary message with a stream number that the
Equipment does not support. The W-bit can be either 0 or 1.
2 H <- E S9F3 Equipment replies with “Unrecognized Stream”.
5.7.3 Unrecognized Function

Step SECS Message Description
1 H -> E SnFn [W]
Host sends a primary message with a stream number for which
the Equipment recognizes some messages, but with a function
number that the Equipment does not support for that stream.
The W-bit can be either 0 or 1.
2 H <- E S9F5 Equipment replies with “Unrecognized Function”.
