6 PPP and MP configuration

Preconfiguration tasks
Before configuring MP authentication binding using the VT, complete the following tasks:
• Configuring physical attributes of the router interface
• Configuring the link layer protocol of the interface as PPP
• Configuring the authentication mode (CHAP or PAP) of the PPP interfaces
Data preparation
To configure MP authentication binding using the VT, you need the following data.

You need to configure the local end and the peer end separately. The methods are the same.
6.7.2 Creating a VT
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view appears.
Step 2 Run:
interface virtual-template number
The VT is created.
Step 3 Run:
ip address ip-address { mask | mask-length } [ sub ]
The command assigns the IP address to the VT.
