Troubleshooting:
1. Ensure the remote control’s battery is operational. A dead battery will not allow the remote to pair with the Boat Lift
Boss.
A battery may be tested by removing the back cover of the remote. Once open, an LED light will show when a
button is pressed if the battery has charge.
2. During Step 2 of the Programming stage, be sure to turn the key fully in either direction and listen for a “click
signifying the reset allowing the programming to continue.
3. If the previous steps fail, confirm that the Boat Lift Boss being paired to is a Generation 4 unit. A sticker on the lower
left of the unit’s face will read “Wireless Remote • GEN 4 Internal Receiver.” If this label is missing, attempt the
programming steps for a Generation 3 Boat Lift Boss, available on www.ExtremeMax.com.
Part III: Battery Replacement
Lithium Battery

Step 1
Remove the four screws from the
remote control, remove the back cover.
Step 2
Remove the old battery, and install a
new lithium battery (model number
facing up). Use 3-volt 2032 battery.

Step 3
Reinstall back cover. Make sure the
cover lines up properly with the
interior electric board.
