WARNING
READ and UNDERSTAND this manual completely before using a hydraulic cylinder.
All operators of this equipment must read and completely understand all instructions. Failure to properly operate and
maintain the hydraulic cylinder could result in serious injury to the operator and bystanders from moving parts that can
crush or cut, flying objects, burns, fire or explosion, escaping high pressure hydraulic fluid, be aware of the following
hazards.
Hydraulics are under pressure
Never attempt to open or work on a hydraulic system with the equipment running. Care should always be taken
when first opening a system that was previously pressurized. When disconnecting the hydraulic hoses or when
purging is required, be aware that the hydraulic oil within the machine system may be extremely hot and under high
pressure. Caution must be exercised. Any work carried out on the hydraulic system must be performed in
accordance with the machine manufacturer’s approved maintenance instructions. Appropriate protective equipment
must be worn when working on the hydraulic system. Objects or materials that are able to bypass the machine’s
hydraulic filtration system will adversely reduce performance and possibly damage the hydraulic valves.
High Pressure Hydraulic Fluid Hazards
High fluid pressures and temperatures are developed in hydraulic systems. Hydraulic fluid escaping through even a
pin-size hole opening can puncture skin and cause severe blood poisoning. Inspect hydraulic system regularly for
possible leaks. Never check for leaks with your hand while the system is pressurized. Seek medical attention
immediately if injured by escaping fluid.
WARNING!
DO NOT EXCEED EQUIPMENT RATINGS. Do not connect cylinder to a pump with a higher pressure rating,
and never attempt to lift a load weighing more than the capacity of the cylinder.
This cylinder is a pressure vessel. Supply pressure must be disconnected from the cylinder and the cylinder
completely relieved of pressure before disassembling the cylinder. Failure to release pressure may result in personal
injury and/or damage to other equipment.
