IMAGEAXS PRO MACINTOSH USER’S GUIDE
DELETING
R
ECORDS
Whenever you delete a record, you can choose to delete the source
file for the record at the same time. Similarly, whenever you delete a
source file, you can choose to delete the data record for that source
file (see “Deleting Source Files” on page 12-6).
To delete one or more records from a collection or portfolio:
STEP 1 Select the record(s) you want to delete, then choose Delete
Record from the Record menu.
The Delete Record/Delete Source File dialog box appears.
You can also open this dialog box by holding down
the
CTRL key and clicking a selected record, then
choosing Delete Record from the contextual pop-up
menu that appears.

STEP 2 Click to put a check mark in the Delete __ Selected Record(s)
from Collection checkbox.
If you selected records in a portfolio window, check Delete
__ Selected Record(s) From This Portfolio to remove the
record from the portfolio without deleting it from the
collection.
Records that are deleted from a collection window are
automatically removed from any portfolios within that
collection.
STEP 3 If you also want to delete the source file(s) to which the
record(s) refer, click to put a check mark in the Delete __ Source
File(s) checkbox.
To preserve the ability to undo deleting the source file(s),
click to put a check mark in the Move to Trash checkbox.
NOTE
If the Move to Trash option is not checked, you will not be able to recover
your source file(s) after you click OK to delete the file(s).
