OVERVIEW:
A
DDING FILES TO
A COLLECTION
The process of adding files to a collection is called acquiring. For each
file that you acquire, ImageAXS Pro makes a data record that
combines a thumbnail image representing the file with basic
information about that file. You can then add text field data and
keywords to the record.
The actual file (referred to as a source file) is not stored in the
collection. ImageAXS Pro keeps track of where the source file is,
though, so you can view, edit, copy, move, delete, or rename the
source file without leaving ImageAXS Pro (see “Managing Source
Files in ImageAXS Pro” on page 12-1).
You can acquire source files individually, as part of an entire folder
(or disk), or directly from a removable storage drive or digital media
device (a scanner, a digital camera, a digital video source, or a digital
audio source).
In addition, you can use software plug-ins and extensions installed
with ImageAXS Pro to acquire files directly from the Finder, or while
using Adobe Photoshop (or a program that uses Photoshop plug-
ins).
