IMAGEAXS PRO MACINTOSH USER’S GUIDE
The options are as follows:
• Acquire Without Moving/Copying Files
Makes data records for the files on the disk or other media
without copying them to the folder you selected in Step 4 or
deleting them from their original location.
• Copy Files, Then Acquire
Copies all files from the disk or other media to the folder
you selected in Step 4, then makes data records for those
files (based on the location of the copied files). The files are
not deleted from their original location.
• Move Files, Then Acquire
Copies all files from the disk or other media to the folder
you selected in Step 4, makes data records for those files,
and then deletes the files from their original location.
NOTE
The Move Files, Then Acquire option is the most efficient choice for
acquiring digital film images from PCMCIA or SmartMedia cards,
FlashCards, or similar media. It allows you to download and acquire your
files automatically, then eject the empty media card (see below) for use in
taking more pictures.
• Eject Disk After Acquiring Files
Ejects the disk or other media after all files on it have been
moved or copied (if you selected either of these options)
and acquired by ImageAXS Pro.
• Speak Remaining Disk Space
Uses the Macintosh speech system extension to state the
available space remaining inthe folder you selected in Step
4 after all files on a disk or other media have been moved or
copied (if you selected either of these options) and acquired
by ImageAXS Pro.
S
TEP 10 Insert your disk or other removable media.
A data record for each file on your disk or other removable
media appears in the collection.
To acquire files from removable media again using the same setup
options, begin with Step 8 above.
ACQUIRING FROM
D
IGITAL CAMERAS
OR SCANNERS
ImageAXS Pro can make data records for digital images as you scan
or capture them from a device that uses Photoshop or TWAIN
software modules to create image files.
After you set up basic options for acquiring the files, select the
Acquire menu option for your software module, and ImageAXS Pro
will acquire the images as you scan or capture them.
