Shock Sensor Disable (if equipped)
The security system has the ability to ignore the shock sensor while armed. This feature
is useful for events that may shake or jar your vehicle, but pose no threat, such as a loud
thunder storm or heavy construction tra c passing near your parked vehicle. This feature
may be activated using the procedure listed below.
To Disable the Shock Sensor:
1. Open the driver’s door and ignition o .
2. Press and hold the brake pedal.
3. Press lock on the vehicle key within 5 seconds.
4. Close the door.
The parking lights will ash and the security LED will illuminate for 20 seconds, indicating
that the system is in a “pre-arm” mode. After the 20 seconds of “pre-arm” mode has expired,
the security system will arm all closed entry points, including the hood (if closed). If an
entry point or the hood is left open, the security system will continue to ignore that entry
point until it is closed.
Extending Run Time
During the Remote Start cycle, the run time of the Remote Start and Vehicle Security System
(if equipped) can be extended (1) time for an additional 5/10/15 minutes by pressing
the button on the Remote Start transmitter or the vehicle key’s Remote Start button (if
equipped) (1) time.
Note: If the remote start system was initially activated using the 2-way remote
start transmitter, but the run time was extended by using the vehicle’s key,
the 2-way remote start transmitter will stop ashing and beep 3 times at the
end of rst 5/10/15 minute run cycle, however the vehicle will continue to run
for the additional 5/10/15 minute run cycle.
2-Way Remote Start Transmitter Communication
If the vehicle was started using the vehicle key, the 2-way remote start transmitter will not
provide feedback information unless the remote start run time has been extended using the
2-way transmitter or the vehicle has been shut down using the 2-way transmitter.
