IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

A. Use this unit only in the manner intended by the manufacturer.
If you have questions, contact the manufacturer.
B. Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch power off at service panel
and lock service panel to prevent power from being switched on
accidentally.
When servicing disconnecting means cannot be locked, securely
fasten a prominent warning device, such as a tag,
to the service panel.
CAUTION: For general ventilating use only. Do not use to exhaust
hazardous or explosive materials and vapors.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC
SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
A. Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified
person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards,
including fire-rated construction.
B. Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of
gases through the flue (chimney) of fuel burning equipment to
prevent back drafting. Follow the heating equipment manufacturer's
guideline and safety standards such as those published by the
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the American
Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers
(ASHRAE), and the local code authorities.
C. When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical
wiring and other hidden utilities.
D. Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.
E. If this unit is to be installed over a tub or shower, it must be marked
as appropriate for the application.
F. NEVER place a switch where it can be reached from a tub or
shower.
• Designed to be mounted in the ceiling or in a standard
2" x 4" wall.
• WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not use
this fan with any solid-state speed control device.
• WARNING: To reduce the risk of shock, disconnect power before
servicing.
• NOTE: Not for use in kitchens.

NOTE: Refer to Figure 1A. Remove motor plate from housing before
mounting. Insert screwdriver between motor plate and side of housing
with duct collar. Gently pry the housing away from the motor plate
while pulling up on the motor plate to disengage the plate from the
housing.
1. With nails or screws, secure (but do not tighten) the housing to the
ceiling or wall through the two (2) keyhole slots in the mounting tabs.
NOTE: Prior to completely tightening, adjust the housing so that the
outer edge will remain

⁄4" recessed from the finished ceiling or
wall. For the grille to fit properly, the housing must not extend
outside the finished wall surface.
2. Secure discharge adapter over flanges on housing and connect
ducting to discharge. Make sure housing is securely mounted to
prevent fan from vibrating and causing noise.
WIRING
IMPORTANT: Be certain all wiring complies with local codes and
the unit is properly grounded.
1. Refer to Figure 2. Run power leads from the wall or
timer switch to the unit.
2. Using approved wire connectors, connect supply wires to fan wires:
black to black and white to white. Connect ground wire (green or
bare) to the green ground screw or ground wire in the fan's junction
box.
DUCTING
1. Refer to Figures 3 and 4. Run 3" round duct from the discharge
opening to the outside of the home. prevent fan from vibrating and
causing noise.
INSTALLING THE FAN AND GRILLE
1. Refer to Figure 5. Snap scroll band (provided with 70 CFM model
only) into housing.
2. Refer to Figure 1. Insert the two tabs on the motor plate into slots in
housing.
3. Push the motor plate into the housing until the plate snaps firmly in
place. Make sure the blower wheel turns freely.
4. Insert the motor plug into the housing’s receptacle.
5. To install the grille, compress the spring clips and insert in the slots
on either side of the motor plate. Push the grille up into place on the
ceiling.

A. La instalación y el cableado deben ser realizados por personas
calificadas de acuerdo a los códigos y normas aplicables, incluyendo
aquellos sobre la clasificación de la construcción contra incendios.
B. Se necesita suficiente aire para una correcta combustión y expulsión
de gases por la chimenea de un equipo que queme combustible para
prevenir el retorno del aire. Siga las instrucciones y normas de
seguridad del fabricante del equipo de calefacción tanto como los
publicados por la Asociación Nacional de Protección contra Incendios
de EE.UU. (NFPA), y la Sociedad Americana de Ingenieros de
Calefacción, Refrigeración y Aire Acondicionado (ASHRAE), y las
autoridades locales de códigos.
C. Cuando haya que cortar o perforar la pared o el techo, no vaya a dañar
los cables eléctricos u otros servicios que estén fuera de la vista.

INSTALLACION DE LA CAJA
Abertura aproximada: 21 cm (8.25 pulg.) de largo por
18,5 cm (7.25 pulg.) de ancho
Tamaño de la caja: 182,5 mm x 205 mm x 98 mm
(7.19 x 8.06 x 3.875 pulgadas)
NOTA: Vea la Figura 1. Saque la placa del motor de la caja antes de
montarlo. Inserte el destornillador entre la placa del motor y el costado de
la caja con el collarín del conducto. Separe la caja de la placa del motor
suavemente con una palanca mientras tira de la placa del motor para
soltar la placa de la caja.
1. Con puntas o tornillos, fije (pero no apriete) la caja al techo o la pared a
través de las dos (2) ranuras de bocallave de las lengüetas de montaje.
NOTA: Antes de apretar totalmente, ajuste la caja para que el borde
exterior permanezca empotrado en el techo o pared de 3 mm a 6 mm
(

⁄4 pulg.). Para que la rejilla encaje correctamente, la caja no debe
sobresalir de la superficie de la pared.
2. Fije el adaptador de descarga sobre las bridas de la caja y conecte la
canalización para descargar.
CABLEADO
IMPORTANTE: Asegúrese de que todo el cableado cumpla con los
códigos locales y de que la unidad esté conectada a tierra correctamente.
1. Vea la Figura 2. Pase los conductores de corriente del interruptor de
pared, interruptor temporizador o interruptor de control de velocidad a la
unidad.
2. Usando los conectores del cableado aprobados, conecte los cables de
alimentación a los cables del ventilador: negro con negro y blanco con
blanco. Conecte el cable de conexión a tierra (verde o desnudo) al
tornillo verde de conexión a tierra de la caja de empalme del ventilador.
CANALIZATION
1. Vea las Figuras 3 y 4. Pase el conducto redondo de 3 pulgadas desde

3. Empuje la plancha del motor en la caja hasta que calce firmemente en
su lugar. Cerciórese de que la rueda sopladora gire libremente.
4. Inserte el tapón del motor en el receptáculo de la caja.
5. Para instalar la reja, comprima los sujetadores de resorte e insértelos
en las ranuras en cualquiera de los lados de la plancha. Empuje le reja
hacia arriba para colocarla en su lugar el cielo raso.
