KNOW YOUR DEVICE Indications for Use Non-contact Forehead IR Thermometer is specially designed to take the body temperature of a person (or pet) regardless of room temperature without contact to human body. Depending on various skin types and thickness, there may be temperature difference. Battery Installation • Open the cover of battery compartment. • Insert new batteries according to the polarity. Wait for 10 minutes so as to warm-up of the apparatus. Battery Warning ⚫ ⚫ ⚫ ⚫ ⚫ ⚫ ⚫ ⚫ Do not mix alkaline, stand (carbon-zinc) and rechargeable batteries (nickel hydride). Do not mix old and new batteries. Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be charged. Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the unit being charged (if removable). Exhausted batteries are to be removed.
Before Measurement For stable and reliable results, it is essential to check the non-contact infrared thermometer and change as needed, as follow: Step 1 Test the body temperature of any person using a conventional thermometer, for instance if you get 99.5⁰F (37.5⁰C). Step 2 To the same person, use this device to measure. About 1-2 inch distance between thermometer and forehead. This device should show 99.5⁰F (37.5⁰C) when it is properly set and ready to use.
About Function Key Key Name Operation F1 Setting of ⁰F/⁰C Press MODE button for 2 seconds, screen display F1 on the bottom right. Press UP / DOWN button to select ⁰F/⁰C F2 Temp. Alarm Press MODE button for 2 seconds, screen display F1, press MODE button again to get F2. Select UP to increase or select DOWN to decrease by 0.1⁰F (0.1⁰C) Default setting: 100.4⁰F (38⁰C) F3 Setting of difference Press MODE button for 2 seconds, screen display F1, press MODE button twice to get F3.
About Measurement Mode Measuring modes for this device are Body and Object. It is able to measure body temperature of human, room temperature, an object and food. Body Mode - Trigger to the left Measurement range 86-109.2⁰F (32-42.9⁰C) Object Mode - Trigger to the right Measurement range 32-212⁰F (0-100⁰C) 3 Colors Backlight Indicator For “Body” Mode, this device will judge temperature by different color of backlight. Green = 86-99.3⁰F (32-37.4⁰C) Orange = 99.5-100.2⁰F (37.5-37.9⁰C) Red = 100.4-109.
• The protective glass over the lens is the most important and fragile part of the thermometer. • The infrared sensor is the most delicate part of the device. • It has to be clean and intact to ensure accurate readings. • Do not use abrasive cleaners, LCD display and exterior of this device only needs to be wiped gently with a soft, dry cloth. • Never immerse this device or any components in water. • Do not expose the thermometer to sunlight or water. • Store the device in a dry environment.
