The serial peripheral interface (SPI) allows full-duplex, synchronous, serial communications with
peripheral devices.
15.2 Features
Features of the SPI include:
Full-duplex operation
Master mode and slave mode
Programmable slave-select output option
Programmable bidirectional data pin option
Two flags with interrupt-generation capability:
Transmission complete
Mode fault
Write collision detection
Read data buffer
Serial clock with programmable polarity and phase
Reduced drive control for lower power consumption
Programmable open-drain output option
