ThispagedescribesthemodeofoperationandthefilesandfoldersusedbyPlanetPressaswellasthe
files,foldersandexecutablesthatarerecommendedtobeignoredforbestpossibleperformanceand
toavoidissuescausedbyantivirusfilelocks.
ITmanagersandITprofessionalsthenmaydecidetheanti-virusstrategytofollowfortheirinternal
requirementsandneedsdependingonthestatementsoutlinedherein.
Directoriesandfolders
AllConnectapplicationsareinstalledunderanarbitrarilyselectablemainfolder.Ifthedefaultinstall-
ationfolderoptionswereused,thisinstallationfolderwouldbe%PROGRAMFILES%\Objectif Lun-
e\OL Connect.
Theinstallationfolderwillholdalltheexecutablefilesandotherfilesandfoldersrequiredfortheoper-
ationofthewholeproductsuite.Allthesefilesandfoldersremainstaticafterinstallation.Itdepends
uponthecompanyvirusprotectionstrategy,ifsuchfilesandfolderswillbemonitoredornot.
Wedo,however,recommendthatthefollowingfileorfoldersbeexcludedfromantivirusprotection.
Connect Service
TheConnectServiceisrunviatheexecutablefileServerService.exe.Thisfilehasbeenreportedas
causingissueswithsomeantiviruspackages,sowerecommendaddingthisfiletotheantivirusexclu-
sionlist,ifpossible.
Theexecutablewillbeinstalledtotheinstallationtarget"Connect Server"sub-folder.Thefullinstall-
ationfoldercanbefoundbyentering%PROGRAMFILES%\Objectif Lune\OL Connect\Connect
ServerinWindowsExplorer.
