Alternativelyyoumayright-clickonastepandselectCut SteporusetheCut buttonintheToolbar.
IfthestepisRepeatorCondition,allstepsinsideitwillalsobeplacedontheclipboard.Toplacethe
stepatitsdestination,right-clickanystepandselectPaste Step,orusethePaste buttoninthetool-
bar.Thepastedstepswillbepositionedbelowtheselectedstep.
Keepinmindthatstepsmayinfluenceeachother,soyoumayhavetomoveotherstepsaswellto
ensurethattheworkflowcontinuestofunctionproperly.InaTextfileforexample,anExtractstepmay
requireaGotosteptobepositionedimmediatelybeforeittomovethecurrentpositiontoacertainloc-
ationinthesourcedata.
Deletingsteps
Todeleteastep,right-clickonitintheStepspaneandselectDelete Step.
Testing the extraction workflow
Theextractionworkflowisalwaysperformedonthecurrentrecordinthedatasource.Whenanerroris
encountered,theextractionworkflowstops,andthedatafieldonwhichtheerroroccurredandalldata
fieldsrelatedtosubsequentstepswillbegreyedout.ClicktheMessagestab(nexttotheStepprop-
ertiespane)toseeanyerrormessages.
Totesttheextractionworkflowonallrecordsthataredisplayed,youcaneither:

ClicktheValidate All Recordstoolbarbutton.
l
SelectData > Validate Recordsinthemenu.
Ifanyerrorsareencounteredinoneormorerecords,anerrormessagewillbedisplayed.Errors
encounteredwhileperformingtheextractionworkflowonthecurrentrecordwillalsobevisibleonthe
Messagestab.
Note: HowmanyrecordsaredisplayedintheDataViewer(200,bydefault)isspecifiedinthe
RecordlimitontheSettingspane.

Afteropeningadatafileyouhavetomakeanumberofsettingstomakesurethatthesourcedatais
interpretedandgroupedthewayyouwant.ThesesettingsarefoundontheSettingspaneattheleft.
