Installation Connecting the Base Station and Power Plug Connecting the Charging Station Connect the plugs to the corresponding sockets in the base station (they cannot be connected incorrectly because the sockets and plugs are designed to prevent reverse poling). Lay the cable under the telephone to the rear. Plug the telephone line in socket F of the telephone connection socket. Insert the power plug at the other end in the power outlet. The base station is now ready to operate.

Using the Telephone Using the Telephone Switching the Handset On/Off / Display Illumination When the handset is inserted in the base station or charging unit, it switches on automatically and starts to charge up. Allow the batteries to be charged for 14 hours without interruption the first time they are charged. The telephone does not have an On/Off switch.
Using the Telephone Making External Calls There are two ways to dial a number, namely direct dialing or on−hook dialing. Direct dialing 1. Press the key and wait for the dialing tone. 2. Dial the telephone number and complete the call. 3. Press the key to end the call. On−hook dialing 1. Dial the telephone number. 2. Delete any incorrect entries by pressing the key. 3. Press the key. The number entered is dialed and a connection established. Carry out the conversation. 4.
Using the Telephone Taking Calls Redialing When an external call is received, all the handsets registered and the base station ring. EXT flashes in the handset display and, if configured, the telephone number of the caller appears (network−dependent). If the caller has been entered in your phone book, the name appears. The incoming call LED on the base station flashes. In the case of an internal call or on pressing the Paging key on the base station, INT flashes in the handset display.
Using the Telephone Dialing from the Phone Book 1. Press the key; the first entry in the phone book appears. 2. Press the or key to select the required subscriber from the phone book. Alternatively, enter the first letter of the name required. 3. Press the key. The number is dialed. Carry out the conversation. Note: How to store entries in the phone book is explained in the Chapter “Phone Book”. Call Log Operations 1. Press the key as often as necessary until the CALL LOG menu appears.
Using the Telephone Muting the Microphone Teleconference After having received an external call, it is possible to include a second handset in the conversation (three−way conference). 1. Using the Telephone Paging the Handset If a handset has been misplaced, it is possible to call all the handsets. The handsets ring at full volume until any key is pressed. Phone Book Phone Book The OLYMPIA telephone can store up to 40 entries in the phone book with name and call number. Store numbers frequently used in order to be able to dial them quickly and easily. When the function is supported by the telephone provider service and the caller, the handset displays the name of the caller (when stored in the phone book). Store Entries 1.
