Foodandsoilparticlestrappedinthisfilterarepulverizedbya
specialjetonthelowersprayarmandwasheddowntodrain.
Largeritems,suchaspiecesofbonesorglass,thatcouldblock
thedrainaretrappedinthecoarsefilter.Toremovetheitems
caughtbythisfilter,gentlysqueezethetaponthetopofthis
filterandliftitout.
Thisfilterholdssoilandfoodresiduesinthesumpareaand
preventsitfrombeingredepositonthedishesduringwashcycle.
