It’s intended to measure and display the following body composition parameters: body weight, body fat (in %), skeletal muscle (in %) and Body Mass Index (BMI).

11 Principle of body composition calculation Prinzip der Berechnung der Körperzusammensetzung Body fat has low electric conductivity The BF214 measures the body fat percentage by the Bioelectrical Impedance (BI) method. Muscles, blood vessels and bones are body tissues with a high water content that conducts electricity easily. Body fat is tissue that has little electric conductivity.
