Note:
1. Wind conditions, excessive air pressure on one side of an opening, weather stripping, or other
adverse job conditions may require the use of more spring hinges.
2. For maximum versatility, use all spring hinges.
Caution:
1. Do not adjust tension beyond 3rd setting. If greater torque is required, replace a butt hinge with an
additional spring hinge.
2. Always rotate the adjustment capstan clockwise regardless of right or left hand door application.
Hinge Installation:
1. Intsall hinge in normal manner with the adjustment capstan up, as shown above.
Adjusting Spring Torque:
1. Adjust torque only after the hinge is installed and with door closed.
2. Rotate adjustment capstan clockwise by using either hex. key or tension adjustment rod to achieve
proper spring tension force, then insert tension stopper pin into tension hole, as shown above. Do
not adjust tension beyond 3rd setting. If greater torque is required, replace a butt hinge with an
additional spring hinge.
3. Remove hex. key or tension adjustment rod, then try opening and closing the door. To achieve
proper door closing force, move tension stopper pin from one hole into the next in either direction
by using hex. key or tension adjustment rod.
