Electrical safety
* Do not install the base unit near a sink, bath or shower, or anywhere else where
it could get wet. Electrical equipment can cause serious injury if used while you
are wet or standing in water.
* If the base unit ever falls into water, Do not retrieve it until you have unplugged
the power lead from the mains and the telephone line plug from the telephone
socket; then pull it out by the unplugged cables.
* Never use your weather phone in the open air during a thunderstorm - unplug the
base unit from the telephone line and the main socket when there are storms in
your area. Damage caused to your phone by lightning is not covered by the
guarantee.
1.7 Making and answering calls
To make a telephone call
Using phone button
* Press to get the dial tone, and dial the number
OR
* Dial the number then press
Note: If you make a mistake when dialing, press to clear digits from the
display. A short press will clear one digit at a time or press and hold to
clear all digits.
Speakerphone
* Press the speakerphone button to get the dial tone, and dial the number
Or
* Dial the number then press
In each case, the display shows the call duration after about 15 seconds.
Note: If you are in speaker phone mode and you want to use the handset,
push
button to switch off the speakerphone first.
