Oregon® Part Numbers
Packaging part numbers
The prefix letter is a code for the saw chain type (S56).
The number represents the number of drive links in
the chain loop (S56).
Chain ID link
Look for the gold-colored ID link that shows the exact-fit
replacement chain part number to reference next
time you buy chain. (U.S. Patent No. 6,003,423)
Part number reference sticker
Oregon packages include a reference sticker indicating
chain part numbers for easy selection in the future.
Gas and oil resistant, the sticker is designed to be
placed on a saw, tool box, or any other location
near your outdoor tools and equipment.
