Use and Care Manual

Care & Cleaning
Oriental Weavers rugs are manufactured with color, design, and value in mind. They are also manufactured to last for years to come, but as with all
things, care and cleaning will prolong the life of the rug. We recommend the following:
Regular vacuuming.
Long ends may work to the surface after use or vacuuming. Never pull these ends out - clip them off even with the rugâ
s surface.
Clean spills and spots immediately. Never rub a spill - always blot to prevent fraying of the yarns
.
Test cleaning solutions in an inconspicuous area to be sure the cleanser will not damage the fiber.
Periodic professional cleaning.
Wool fibers may be cleaned with a neutral detergent and dried quickly to limit yellowing or browning. Excessive agitation and excessive heat should be
avoided as well as chemicals that can easily damage wool such as bleaches and alkalis.
Use a rug pad under our rugs. Although Oriental Weavers does not endorse any specific brand of rug pad, you may ask your Oriental Weavers
representative for his/her recommendation.
Rotating - No matter how dense the pile yarns or how well constructed the area rug, constant traffic patterns will begin to show; it is an inevitable fact o
f
area rugs. However, this process can be slowed dramatically by rotating the rug at least once a year - twice if the rug is in a high traffic location. By
rotating the rug, the traffic patterns are distributed throughout the entire piece rather than concentrated on one spot. This not only adds years to the rug
but also allows the entire rug to wear at the same rate.
