About Installation:
1. Does this have to be recessed or can it be mounted on a wall? If we hang this in
the wall, do we need to buy a separate mount, if yes what kind? If not, is it fully
recessed flushed with the wall?
2. How close can I place electronics (tv, dvd cable box) or shelf? Any clearance
requirements in front of the unit? i.e. how close can i put an upholstered chair?
A: Usually, it will require 8” safe clearance from the top, and 3ft(0.9m) from the
front.
3. I have 3/8" thick marble + 1/2" durarock + mud for total finish depth of approx.
1-1/8". Will the glass cover mounts allow for add ‘'1 5/8" thickness?
A: The cover outside the stud should not be thicker than 20mm thick or there will
be no clearance for installing the glass. And any material will be fine to use since
the heat outlet is on the middle top front.
4. Can this be hardwired? If not, do you need a dedicated circuit for it? How many
amps does it need?
A: yes, this can be both hardwired and plug on a separate 15amp circuit with no
other appliance. For more hardwire information, please see instruction manual.
5. Can this be free standing?
A: No. recessed ONLY.
6. Does anyone know if the 6" required depth is stud only? Looking to install this in
a new wall that we were planning to frame with 2 x 6" studs.
A: This model is designed for 2x6” stud so the depth of the unit is 6”, too. If you
use 2x4 stud, please make sure the installation depth is 6”.
7. Can I put insulation between the wood frame and the electric fireplace to reduce
any air draft? If yes, what kind of insulation? Any concerns?
A: yes you can and no requirements about the insulation, the main air inlets are on
top front, so just make sure the installation depth is enough.
8. What are the product dimensions and installation dimensions?
A: Please see “Dimensions Detail” in “Technical Specification” section for more
information.
