To assemble the tool, select a handle, and secure the disc assembly to the handle with a cap screw that extends no more than 1/2"
through the disc stack. Tighten the cap screw securely using the allen wrench provided. An extension tube is provided for use when
smaller diameter discs are needed to install the part more than 1/2" into the bore; since the handle will not fit in the bore, the extension
tube is used.

Bearing Cup Installation
Driver Disc Selection – When installing the cup flush with the
housing, select a driver disc slightly larger than the O.D. of the
cup. When installing the cup below the housing surface, select a
driver disc slightly smaller than the O.D. of the cup.
Pilot Disc Selection – To keep the cup straight during installa-
tion, use a pilot disc which will just pass through the minor I.D. of
the cup.
Spacer Disc – If the width of the cup you are installing is more than
1/2", spacer disc(s) must be inserted between the pilot and driver.
Bearing Cone Installation
Driver Disc Selection – The driver disc should be 1/16" smaller
than the minor I.D. of the bearing cage.
Pilot Disc Selection – Measure the bore in the housing, and
select a pilot disc that will just pass through.
Spacer Disc – Use enough spacer discs to equal or exceed the
width of the cone. If the bearing cone must be driven below the
housing surface, use the old bearing cone as a spacer (see
illustration).
Oil Seal Installation
Driver Disc Selection – When installing a seal below the housing
surface, use a driver disc slightly smaller than the O.D. of the seal.
When installing a seal flush with the housing, select a driver disc
slightly larger than the O.D. of the seal.
Pilot Disc Selection – Pilot disc should be slightly larger than the
I.D. of the seal's sealing lip.
Procedure – Stretch sealing lip over the pilot disc until the face of
the seal contacts the driver disc.
Bushing Service
Driver Disc Selection – For recessed installation or removal of
a bushing, select a driver disc slightly smaller than the O.D. of the
bushing.
Pilot Disc Selection – The pilot should be the largest disc which
will pass through the I.D. of the bushing.
Spacer Disc – The largest disc which is still smaller than the pilot
should be used as a spacer. If more than one is used, the largest
spacer should be next to the driver disc (see illustration).
