Congratulations on your purchase of a new outdoor gas fireplace! These instructions will help you get your new fireplace set up in no time. Be sure to thoroughly read your gas burner instruction manual for important safety information and special considerations.
Unwrapping your Fireplace 1 Using a razor knife, carefully cut plastic covering fireplace , taking care to avoid cutting or scraping the unit inside. 2 Using a pry bar or hammer, pry up staples holding 1x2” boards to ease fireplace removal from pallet. 3 With a minimum of two people, carefully remove cast concrete top and hearth pad from fireplace and set aside. 4 Remove mantel from inside of firebox and set aside before proceeding to the next step.
Removal of Firebox The cast concrete firebox weights approximately 150-175lbs and should be removed before attempting to remove fireplace from shipping pallet for safety. With a minimum of two people, carefully slide firebox forward while lifting slightly . Set aside. After removing firebox, move fireplace to its final location.
Mounting Shelf 1 2 Remove supplied bolts from the back of cast concrete mantel piece. Have another person hold mantel in place against fireplace surface while you insert bolts and washers from inside the fireplace. Using 9/16” socket, tighten bolts until secure. Cast concrete top can be set into place at this time as well.
Final Assembly 1 With your Sonoma fireplace in the desired location, drill a small hole large enough for incoming gas line to pass through in a side, back, or bottom of the fireplace, depending on installation location. 2 Carefully slide firebox back into the unit. Slide forward until the back surface of the fire box meets the front stucco surface of the fireplace body. 3 Have a qualified licensed professional make all gas connections at this time.
