Limitations on the transferability of this warranty are set forth herein.
1. Acts of God, such as hail storms;
2. Foot traffic on your roof or damage caused by objects (such as tree
branches) falling on your roof or by vandalism;
3. Improper or faulty installation (installation must be in accordance with
our latest written installation instructions);
4. Metal work or other materials not furnished by Owens Corning and used
in the roofing system resulting in leaks;
5. Damage by any chemical condition not disclosed to Owens Corning, or
traffic or storage of materials or infiltration of condensation or moisture in,
through or around the walls, coping, building structure of the underlying
or surrounding areas;
6. Inadequate attic ventilation or lack of positive, proper roof drainage.
If you have any questions about appropriate ventilation requirements,

deck over which your WeatherLock Ice & Water Barrier is installed;
8. Damage caused by alterations made after completion of application,
including structural changes, equipment installation, painting or the

Owens Corning.
What Is Your Remedy
In the event that any portion of your WeatherLock Ice & Water Barrier allows
leaking due to a manufacturing defect, Owens Corning will contribute to the
cost of either repairing or replacing your underlayment, as its sole option and
as its sole obligation to you, as follows:
When WeatherLock Ice & Water Barrier is installed in conjunction with Owens
Corning shingles, the warranty period and remedy for the Owens Corning
shingles shall apply to the WeatherLock Ice & Water Barrier installed. Please
reference your Owens Corning shingle warranty to determine the warranty
remedy for the WeatherLock product installed.
When WeatherLock Ice & Water Barrier is installed with shingles not manufac-
tured by Owens Corning, Owens Corning will pay you the full reasonable cost
to repair or replace any defective underlayment, including the labor to re-install
only the defective underlayment over the affected portion (exclusive of shingles,
metalwork, flashings, and other related work) and will provide replacement
underlayment material during the warranty period of five (5) years from the
date of installation.
Decisions as to the extent of repair or replacement required, whether the
WeatherLock Ice & Water Barrier should be repaired or replaced, and reasonable
cost of such work, will be made solely by Owens Corning. Owens Corning
reserves the right to arrange directly for your WeatherLock Ice & Water Barrier
to be repaired or replaced instead of reimbursing you for you such work. The
remedy under this warranty is available only for that portion of the WeatherLock
Ice & Water Barrier actually exhibiting defects at the time of the settlement.
The replacement WeatherLock Ice & Water Barrier, as well as any remaining
original underlayment, will be warranted only for the remainder of the original
warranty period.
