Antenna
Gives you access to the Palm.Net service. See Chapter
5 for more information. See “Buttons preferences” in
Chapter 8 to learn how to open a specific application
when you raise the antenna.
Whenever you use the wireless features of your
handheld, please observe the guidelines or
prohibitions on the use of wireless devices in your
current location. For example, when you are on an
airplane, do not raise the antenna or use the wireless
features at times when the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) or airline regulations prohibit
the use of cellular phones. You can, of course, use all
other applications of your handheld in accordance
with airline regulations for electronic devices.
Graffiti
®
writing
area
The area where you write letters and numbers using
the Graffiti
®
alphabet. See Chapter 2 to learn how to
write Graffiti characters.
Application
buttons
Opens the individual handheld applications that
correspond to the icons on the buttons: Date Book,
Address Book, To Do List, and Memo Pad. See
“Buttons preferences” in Chapter 8 for details on
reassigning these buttons to activate any application
on your handheld.
Tip: If your handheld is turned off, pressing any
application button activates your handheld
and opens the corresponding application.
Scroll
button
Displays text and other information that extends
beyond the area of the handheld screen. Pressing the
lower half of the scroll button scrolls down to view
information below the viewing area, and pressing the
upper half of the button scrolls up to view the
information above the viewing area.
