Troubleshooting
For help with HotSync operations, wireless applications, and turning your Sprint PCS Treo on and
off, try the steps below. For additional troubleshooting help, see the Sprint PCS support web site at

My phone will not turn on.
1. Perform a soft reset as described on page 40.
2. Charge your phone for about 10 minutes before turning it on again.
3. Check the display settings and adjust as needed. See page 7 for details.
4. Perform a hard reset. Please note that performing a hard reset erases all the data on your
Sprint PCS Treo. See page 40 for details.
I have trouble synchronizing with my computer (performing a HotSync operation).
1. Perform a soft reset as described on page 40.
2. Make sure you have the correct HotSync cable for your computer (see page v).
3. Confirm that the cable is firmly secured to your computer and your Sprint PCS Treo as
described on page iv.
4. Click the HotSync Manager icon in the lower-right corner of your computer screen and
make sure Local USB is checked (or Local Serial if you purchased the optional serial cable). If
the HotSync Manager icon is not there, click
Start, select Programs, select Handspring, and
then select
HotSync Manager.
5. If you’re using a USB HotSync cable, disconnect all other USB devices, connect the HotSync
cable directly into your computer, and then restart your computer.
